Kudzu Bug Found In Western Mississippi

Up until now, the farthest west the invasive pest had been documented was Escambia County, Alabama, which put it two counties east of the Alabama-Mississippi line. Here’s a map of the insect’s current range in the South, which now shows the Mississippi sighting.

The fact that the pest has literally jumped across the state probably has to do with its ability to hitch rides on vehicles....
